Meat, poultry prices stable in Manila market

MANILA, Philippines –  Despite the rising cost of meat and poultry as Christmas approaches, Paco Public Market has kept its prices stable, according to a report on Radyo INQUIRER 990AM Wednesday.

Pork sells for P175 per kilo, chicken for P130 per kilo and beef, P280 a kilo, the report said, warning the public against buying “double dead meat” or the meat of animals that died of disease and passed off as newly slaughtered.

On the other hand, the prices of fish and other sea foods haven’t gone up because there has been no calamity that would affect supply, the report said.

Squid costs around P200 per kilo; Tilapia, P90 per kilo; Galunggong, P140 per kilo; Alumaan, P150 per kilo; Hasa–hasa, P130 per kilo; and Dalagang bukid, P140 per kilo, it said. JM Papag
