Alleged top drug pusher in Mindoro nabbed

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)

MANILA, Philippines – A man tagged as one of the most notorious drug pushers in Oriental Mindoro has been arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in a buy-bust operation.

The suspect, identified as Brian Dalida, 29, is a member of the Adap Drug Group and is included in the PDEA Regional Order of Battle, Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr. said in a statement Tuesday.

“The arrest of Dalida is a crippling blow to the local drug industry in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro and other neighboring municipalities,” he said.

Dalida was arrested at around 6:40 p.m. Sunday after an undercover PDEA agent arranged for a drug transaction in Barangay (village) Paclasan, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.

The suspect was immediately arrested by PDEA Regional Office 4B agents after receiving the marked P500 bill that was paid for one plastic sachet of shabu or methamphetamine.

Four more plastic sachets of the illegal drug were found on the suspect, Cacdac said.

“PDEA will continue to pursue other high profile/high value targets in the regions because they are responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs in our communities,” he added.

The suspect will be charged with appropriate charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs, Cacdac said.
