MANILA, Philippines—A fire hit a residential area in Tondo, Manila, but was put under control shortly after on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started in a house on Varona street and reached the second alarm at 2:47 p.m., said Fire Officer 3 Valentino Miguel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Tondo district.
The fire started around 2:40 p.m. and was declared under control at around 3:06 p.m., Miguel said.
Two fire trucks from the BFP in San Nicolas, Tondo, were sent to put out the fire.
