Fire hits Tondo residential area in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—A fire hit a residential area in Tondo, Manila, but was put under control shortly after on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started in a house on Varona street and reached the second alarm at 2:47 p.m., said Fire Officer 3 Valentino Miguel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Tondo district.

The fire started around 2:40 p.m. and was declared under control at around 3:06 p.m., Miguel said.

Two fire trucks from the BFP in San Nicolas, Tondo, were sent to put out the fire.

Miguel said there were no reported casualties. No details were available as of posting time.—Danica Hermogenes, INQUIRER.net
