The bold forecast yesterday of Pag-asa Mactan weather station chief Oscar Tabada was issued four days ahead of the Nov. 30 national thanksgiving celebration for Saint Pedro Calungsod.
“Fine, sunny weather from Thursday to Saturday”, he said in his text update.
There will be cooler early mornings in the days ahead, said Tabada.
In contrast, the US-based online service Accuweather maintained its prediction that Cebu will experience thunderstorms in the day and brief showers at night of Nov. 30.
It said Thursday will be “partly sunny.” (See table).
In a separate interview, Pag-asa Mactan weather specialist Al Quiblat said that based on Pag-asa’s five-day forecast, the temperature on November 30 will b e 25 to 32 degrees Celsius with 10 to 20 per cent chances of rain in the afternoon or evening due to accumulated clouds that may cause thunderstorms.
He advised people attending the outdoor Mass to apply sunscreen and drink plenty of water to prevent getting dehydrated.
