Romero scores 22 in Big Chill’s win
FAR EASTERN University ace guard Terrence Romeo made up for several endgame gaffes by hitting a huge three pointer that helped the Big Chill Superchargers get a 68-59 win over the Boracay Rum Waves in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup over at the San Juan Arena yesterday.
The mercurial Romeo had a terrible shooting outing and compounded that by getting a technical foul late in the fourth period. However, he swished a trey with a little over a minute left in the game that gave them a 67-59 lead to secure their fourth win in as many games, heading to their finals rematch against the NLEX Road Warriors on Thursday.
Romeo finished with 22 points but shot just 6-of-18 from the field. The Superchargers struggled all game long against the winless Waves and at one point, were even trailing at 47-48.
Arvie Bringas helped Big Chill’s cause with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Roider Cabrera led the Waves with 17 points, including three triples. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
