CIM marks 55 years
The Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM) will celebrate its 55th founding anniversary on Dec. 4-10.
This year also marks the golden jubilee of pioneer graduates of Class 1962.
Activities lined up are CIM Medical World Congress on Dec. 4 and 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Radisson Blu Hotel and individual class reunions on Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.
Day 3 will feature a Memorial Mass at 8:30 a.m. at the Cebu Velez General Hospital chapel, Utokay 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the CIM Ampitheater, floral offerings for Dr. Jacinto Velez Sr., Dr. Jacinto Velez Jr. and Mrs. Epifania Velez at 9:30 a.m. at the Cebu Memorial Park in Banilad, Dr. Jacinto Velez Sr. memorial lecture at 2 p.m. at the CIM Social Hall, dinner and fellowship night at 6:30 p.m. at the Radisson Blu Hotel and students’ night at 6 p.m. at the Oakridge Business Park.
Day 4 will include activities like bioethics conference at 8:30 a.m. at the CIM Main Social Hall, free consultation (sugar and cholesterol determination, bone mineral density and ECG) from 9 a.m. to noon at the CVGH outpatient department and research paper contest at 1:30 p.m. at the CIM Amphitheater 3.
On Day 5, Dec. 8, there will be an alumni homecoming with a Holy Mass at 9 a.m. at the CIM Amphitheater 3, awarding for “Most outstanding CIM Alumnus” at 10 a.m. at the Amphitheater 3 and fellowship, lunch and raffle draws at noon at the CIM Main Social Hall.

The celebration will culminate on Dec. 10 with Mass at 8:30 a.m. at the CIM Main Social Hall and recognition and awarding at at 9:30 a.m. at the same venue.
