Pregnant woman dies in Danao road accident

A pregnant woman died after she was thrown off a motorcycle she rode on and got run over by a truck in barangay Sabang, Danao City, northern Cebu.

Lanie Pasaje, 25, was five months pregnant.

Police said Pasaje was fetched by her husband Jimmy from work in Cebu Mitsumi last Saturday afternoon. They were headed home to barangay Guinsay on a motorcycle driven by the woman’s husband when they met the accident past 3 p.m.

The motorcycle hit a 17-year-old girl crossing the road causing the motorcycle to crash, said SPO2 Renante Manulat of the Danao police.

The woman was thrown off the road and was run over by a dump truck driven by Marito Capua. The truck is owned by Compostela Mayor Joel Quiño.
