BOY NABBED FOR ROBBERY

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy and a 42-year-old man were arrested after they allegedly robbed a hospital worker aboard a passenger jeepney in barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City.

Police said a revolver was recovered from the boy’s  possession while Roland Fransico yielded a kitchen knife.

Police said the boy and Francisco had a third cohort who escaped with the victim’s shoulder bag containing P4,500 cash and valuables worth at least P5,000.

Police said Cecilia Gador, a medical secretary of Chong Hua Medical Arts, was walking to her apartment last Saturday afternoon when three persons robbed her at gun-point.

The robbers fled after taking the victim’s valuables.

Gador sought the help of  policemen who gave chase and cornered the boy and Francisco in Osmeña Boulevard.

The boy and Francisco were detained at the Carbon police station pending the filing of robbery charges against them, said police./Correspondent Tweeny M. Malinao

WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN CARCAR

A 68-YEAR-OLD woman was found dead in barangay Can-asujan, Carcar City last Friday night.

Relatives found the body of Narcisa Gaviola in a grassy area near her home.

Relatives told police that Gaviola left her house at past 3 p.m. to gather grass to feed her goats that she was raising.
