The Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered the dismissal from the service of 13 rookie policemen in the Zamboanga Peninsula who were among the 386 recruits accused of cheating in their entrance exams to the police organization.
Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles, Zamboanga Peninsula police director, on Sunday said the policemen were sacked for dishonesty for manipulating the results of the PNP entrance and promotional examination conducted by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Zamboanga City.
More than 350 others were placed under investigation.
Estilles said he issued the order based on a Napolcom resolution revoking the results of the PNP entrance test held on April 17, 2011, after it was discovered that many takers had put down exactly the same wrong answers.
The cheating was uncovered only recently, and those who took the exams had been commissioned into the force.
“Due to this case, the eligibility of the respondents who were already appointed to the police service was revoked as indicated in the dismissal decision,” Estilles said in a statement.
Among those axed were Police Officers 1 Djona Ansing Genorosa, Felix Josephius Pascual, Arian Lloyd Luchana, April Rose Denopol, Grege Lagare, Ralph Shemuel Supnet, Daniel Audy Talpis, Al-Najib Ujaji, Fermuzaina Umda, Joel Espina Aliser, Jilhani Mohaimen Dalongenes, Nohasim Yusop Sakilin and Raymond Sumonglay.
