Mother, son stabbed by neighbor in Badian

A MOTHER and her 12-year-old son were stabbed by their neighbor in Badian town, southwest Cebu.

The victims sustained multiple stab wounds in the body.

Police said suspect was identified as Zenon Sayaboc, 51, who was also accused of raping the victim’s nine-year-old daughter last November 5.

Names of the victims were withheld to protect the nine-year-old girl.

Police said Sayaboc broke into the victims’ house past noon on Wednesday.

The 12-year-old boy confronted the suspect who drew a bladed weapon and stabbed the boy twice in the body.

The suspect went to the second floor of the house and also the attacked the mother.

The suspect escaped by jumping off the window. The suspect escaped on board a Cebu City-bound Librando bus.

The victims sought help from neighbors who took them to the Badian District Hospital. They later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

The suspect was arrested about five hours after the incident in barangay Poblacion, Carcar City, said PO1 Carlito Zulueta of Badian police.
