MANILA, Philippines—A magnitude 5 earthquake shook Nasugbu, Batangas Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The US Geological Survey placed its magnitude at 5.2.
The quake was centered three kilometres northeast of Nasubu and struck at a depth of 183 kilometers at 12:52 p.m.
It was felt at Intensity II in Nasugbu.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
