MANILA, Philippines — An intertropical convergence zone will bring rains in parts of Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Friday.
The regions of Davao and Soccsksargen will have cloudy skies with occasional light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Intermittent rains in Mindanao spawned by the ITCZ have caused floods in Davao region the past few days.
It also left three people dead and affected over 3,000 persons, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said in a belated report.
However, the weather in the area has been improving as of Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated brief rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.
This kind of weather will be experienced until the weekend based on Pagasa’s extended weather outlook.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to southeast with slight to moderate seas.
