A JAPANESE man reported to the police that he lost valuables worth P19,000 after his rented room in barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City was burgled twice.
Yasuyo Matsuo, 35, single, a native of Kumamoto City, Japan, told police that the first burglary happened last Sept. 21 where the thieves took his gold necklace worth P11,000.
The Japanese said unidentified thieves broke into the his room again last Sunday and took his digital camera worth P8,000.
Matsuo, a language teacher at Technological Support, said he decided to report to the police after the management of the Ancestors pension house failed to act on the two burglary incidents.
SPO4 Marcos Noval, investigator of Mandaue City police’s Investigation and Detection Management Branch, said there were no signs of forced entry in the man’s room.
Noval said the windows have metal grills.
Four housekeepers who have duplicate keys to the man’s room will be invited for questioning.
Noval said there is a possibility that the incident was an inside job./CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
