The injured suspects were brought to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center, according to reports reaching the Quezon City Police District.
Chief Superintendent Mario de la Vega, district director, said the thieves were spotted in a dump truck while stealing electric wires inside the Greenmeadows Subdivision in Quezon City, Thursday morning.
But instead of surrendering, the thieves sped off with the chase ending in Taguig City.
Dela Vega said operatives from the Eastwood police station were forced to fire warning shots, injuring some of the alleged thieves.
Senior Supt. Neri Ilagan, the QCPD deputy director for operations, said the thieves used a dump truck as a platform to reach the electric wires.
Patrolling policemen chanced upon them cutting wires from the electric poles.
Supt. Danilo Pecaña, Eastwood police station commander, said the thieves sped off toward C5 Road, with the chase ending at the Heritage Park in Taguig City even as policemen fired warning shots.
The truck driver however ignored the shots. Pecana said one suspect jumped off to escape while three were wounded.
Pecana said they are coordinating with Meralco for the filing of criminal charges against the suspects.
