Rice cake vendor needs help for her Angelito
Angelito Magday’s parents are keeping their hopes up since he is on the last stages of treatment for acute lymphocytic leukemia.
“I’m both excited and nervous because I’m hoping for the best,” his mother, Maria Teresa Loberiano, told the Inquirer. “He stopped schooling twice because the chemotherapy procedures had made him hyperactive. He kept on standing up and walking around the classroom while everybody was seated, according to his teacher.”
The rice cake vendor said her 10-year-old son still has to undergo radiotherapy, the last procedure needed to kill the cancer cells, at the cancer and hematology unit of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center on Tuesday.
Loberiano also said a few more tests would check if the cancer cells had not spread to Angelito’s brain.
“I’m appealing for your readers’ generosity because we need P58,000 for the radiotherapy and P17,000 for the bone marrow (test) and CT scan,” she said. Angelito is Maria Teresa’s son with partner Ronwald Magday, an electronics supply delivery man.
