THE SACRED Heart-Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) opened their brand-new season in style as 12 of the 13 participating teams saw action last Sunday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Leading the list of winners were the multi-titled Kia-White Gold, which defeated the San Remegio Beach Club, 69-60.
David Lim led the onslaught with 21 points while Joseph Lo and Dennis Que added 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Gaisano Capital upset Kunstof, 49-39, as they held the latter’s normally potent gunners Eldy Cabahug and Myko Datan, to subpar performances. The aforementioned duo combined for just 11 markers while Gaisano Capital got 15 from Frank Dinsay and 13 from Jermain Carillo.
In other games, Mackent won over Fiesta Cebuana, 63-46, while Istorya.net trounced Japfa, 52-40. Dynacast eked past RDAK/Edcon, 47-44 even as Eco Blocks downed Filmon, 76-45. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
