Tropang Texters, Coffee Mixers fight for lead

THE TALK ’N Text Tropang Texters and the San Mig Coffee Mixers battle for the leadership as the two elite teams collide in today’s main game of the 38th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
The defending champions Texters are on top of the standings with an 8-2 (win-loss) card, protecting a half-game lead over the red-hot Coffee Mixers, who are at second place with a 7-2 record.
San Mig Cofffe has been unstoppable of late, piling up five straight victories capped by an easy 97-73 trashing of Barako Bull Energy Cola last Wednesday.
Aside from aking the number one spot away from the Texters, the Coffee Mixers will also try to avenge their loss to the same Talk ’N Text squad in their meeting last Oct. 20.
Larry Fonacier was the hero for Talk ’N Text in that win as he fired 26 points in an 85-74 win.
The Texters were triumphant in their last outing, where they pulled off a 109-98 win over the Meralco Bolts.
