As of September 2012, around 8,000 cases of violation of Republic Act 6425 and 9165 (The Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972 and Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, respectively), were recorded in the National Capital Region, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
