Work in government offices to go on despite bad weather–Palace
MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang said Wednesday work in government agencies would not be suspended even as bad weather prevailed in Metro Manila due to Tropical Storm “Juaning.”
“There is no recommendation from the National Disaster Risk Management Coordinating Council,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said when asked if government agencies would suspend work on Wednesday.
The Department of Science and Technology (DoST) recommended a “no suspension” of work in the government sector, DoST undersecretary Graciano Yumul said in a text message to Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio “Sonny” Coloma.
“From our latest data, we are not recommending the suspension of work in the government sector,” Yumul said.
“May trabaho po tayo [We have work],” Yumul added.
