MANILA, Philippines—Whistleblower Sandra Cam on Tuesday accused Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan as the “godfather” and “wall’’ of illegal activities in the New Bilibid Prisons.
Cam said in an interview over Radyo Inquirer 990 AM that she has documents and witnesses which will prove that Baraan is a “tough protector’’ of the illegal drugs trade inside the national penitentiary.
Cam also said she pitied Justice Secretary Leila de Lima because Baraan has been having his way around her boss.
Baraan, in the same radio program, immediately denied Cam’s allegations and claimed he was 1,000 percent sure he was not involved in illegal activities inside the penitentiary.
Baraan said name-dropping is “normal’’ at the Bilibid Prisons whenever illegal activities are discovered or exposed.
