MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau on Tuesday warned of possible flashfloods and landslides in South Cotabato and the regions of Eastern Visayas, Davao and Zamboanga Peninsula as the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said an ITCZ was affecting Mindanao, while northeast monsoon or hanging amihan is affecting Northern Luzon.
Palawan, Bicol and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have occasional light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms, while Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light rains, it said.
The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will be partly cloudy with isolated brief rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast and east with slight to moderate seas, it added.
