AROUND a thousand runners will be joining the third staging of the annual “Frankie Radaza Memorial Run” on Dec. 9, 2012 starting at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
The race which is organized to commemorate the death anniversary of Atty. Frankie Radaza. The fund-raising run aims to purchase bundles of joy for Lapu-Lapu City’s street children.
The run was officially launched yesterday at the Hukad Restaurant in Ayala Center Cebu which was attended by Radaza’s son and Lapu-Lapu City Councilor and Sports Chairman Harry Radaza. The race will also highlight the 63rd birthday of the late philanthropist.
Backed by the Lapu-Lapu City Sports Commission, the race feature 15-kilometer, 10k and 5k distances.
“We have been doing this for three years now and I am happy to say that a lot of runners have already enlisted to join. I am happy because we can again put smiles into the faces of the less fortunate children this Christmas,” Harry Radaza said.
Registration fee is pegged at P200 inclusive of singlet, snacks and free ticket to the fourth fight between Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Mexican nemesis Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez which will be aired via pay-per-view at the Hoops Dome.
