Pinoy Gasca loses OPBF title in Japan

ROLI Gasca of Barili, Cebu failed in his bid to reclaim his Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) superbantamweight title when he lost by split decision to champion Yukinori Oguni of Japan in a fight held at the Sambo Hall in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan.

Gasca lost the OPBF title to Oguni last year by unanimous decision in a fight also held in Japan.

Oguni has previously defended the belt twice against countrymen Hiromasha Ohashi and Masaaki Serei.

This is the fourth career loss for Gasca, who now has a 19-4 (win-loss) 5-knockout record.
