CEBUANO elite runners took advantage of the absence of Kenyan runners to dominate their respective categories in the Synergy Run of the  People Management Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Association of Secretaries  yesterday at the Parkmall in Mandaue City.

Christy Tutor (1:35.56) and Bonifacio Monjas (1:14.30) lorded the 21-kilometer half marathon while Jobert Carolino and Lovely Fe Andrin topped the 12k distance.

In the 6k race, Aiza Suaybaguio (27:06 ) and Jess Gonzaga (20:46) breezed through the finish line to win the female and male divisions, respectively.  Kenneth Cabantan (10:28) and Lorna Olarita (12:47) topped the 3k race.

The organizers decided to only let Kenyan runners join the 12k race but none of the powerhouse cast showed up for  the race, whose proceeds will be given to the Bonita Girls Home and the Tulay National High School. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
