/ 08:38 AM November 17, 2012

Roads around the SRP will be closed starting 6 a.m. the day before the big event, or Thursday, Nov. 29.

Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) will be rerouted on Nov. 29 and 30.

Although public traffic advisories are posted in  intersections and affected roads, it’s better, as early as now, to plan ahead for trips on those days, said Tumulak.

The bus stops will be in front of the Talisay City Hall (south) and S. Osmena Avenue near the Cebu Technological School (north)

Pilgrims can also walk in through the Mambaling access road. It’s less than a kilometer to the templete or little temple where the Mass will be held.

“Citom is all set, including our traffic enforcers, parking aides, engineering personnel, and maintenance personnel,” said  Tumulak, Citom chief of operations.

He said 20 Kaoshiung buses of the Cebu city government will roam around the SRP to ferry pilgrims and some mini-bus operators pledged to field their buses free of charge for the riding public.

Golf cars will also be deployed to ferry PWDs to the site.

The parking area will accommodate 10,000 cars.

Only those with car passes can enter.

The Archdiocese of Cebu will issue car passes for special guests, those who have a role in the thanksgiving Mass, and to Cebu’s 140 parishes.

Each parish will be given four passes for six-wheel vehicles and 40 passes for four-wheel vehicles.

Vehicles from the north (with red pasess)  will enter through the SRP tunnel.

Vehicles from the south (with blue passes), will enter through the Talisay City road to reach the templete.

Yellow passes will be issued to guests, VIPs, committee members, and those who will have a special role in the Mass.
