Nietes, foe make weight, fight tonight

WBO light flyweight champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes of the Philippines, his opponent Danai Meendaeng of Thailand and the rest of the supporting bout fighters of the ALA Stars Boxing Tour made their respective weights for their scheduled bouts tonight at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

Nietes weighed in at the exact contracted weight of 110 llbs. while Meendaeng came in at 109.5 lbs. in front of a great crowd of onlookers at the Robinson’s Place in Dumaguete.

Main under card fighters Jimrex “The Executioner” Jaca came in at 140 lbs. while his opponent Jaypee Ignacio tipped the scales at 141.1 llbs.

The rest of the under card fighters and their corresponding weights are: Mark Vincent Bernaldez (122.5 lbs.) vs. JR Mendoza (121 lbs.); and Dumaguete City’s Crispin Parba (129.5 lbs.) vs. Lydon Castillo (131 lbs).

Two other Dumaguete-trained pro boxing debutants also made their respective weights. Steve Recaborda 107.75 lbs.) and Ian Tevez at 105.5 lbs. going up against Jonathan Himongala (113 lbs.) and Jaybee Galia (105.75 lbs.)

The Official ALA Stars Provincial Tour Press Conference immediately followed the weigh-in yesterday at the Honey Comb Tourist Inn.
