MANILA, Philippines – A 5.8-magnitude earthquake rattled Wednesday afternoon the western part of Negros Occidental, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The quake struck at 1:21 p.m. and had a depth of 10 kilometers. It was plotted 26 km west of Cauayan Negros Occidental.
Intensity 5 was felt in Binalbagan, Hinobaanand Hinigaran, Negros Occidental and Iloilo City while
Intensity 4 shook Sigma, Capiz; Alimodian, Bago City; Nueva Valencia, Guimaras and Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
Intensity 3 hit Dao, Capiz; Sipalay, Negros Occidental; Patnongon, San Jose, Culasi, Antique; Masbate and Lezo, Aklan.
Meanwhile, Intensity 2 rattled Canlaon City, Murcia, Negros Occidental and Dipolog City.
