CITY NIGHT SCHOOLS UNDER SCRUTINY
Worried about reports of night school students getting pregnant, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he may review an executive order that establishes city-run night schools.
Rama said he is considering the proposal of Councilor Jose Daluz III to limit night high school enrollment to those aged 18-years-old and above.
Daluz is chairman of the Local School Board.
Cebu City has 28 night high schools and 23 national high schools.
Rama said that while he heard there was a problem about teenage pregnancy, ther was no study or statistics on the matter.
Rama said teachers and supervisors assigned in the night shift should be paid more.
He said he will meet with the Local School Board to discus these concerns./Correspondent Edison delos Angeles
