Yayo’s Grill claims title in Mayor Apura hoop

Yayoy’s Grill and Resto Bar added another title to its name as it captured the championship in the 2012 Mayor Nice Apura Cup Basketball Tournament after winning over the University of the Visayas, 96-80, late Monday night in Carcar City.

The Raul Alcoseba-mentored squad started the game off like a house on fire as they rattled in 13 unanswered points that set the tone for the one-sided match.

Former NCAA Finals MVP Mark Magsumbol hoisted the Most Valuable Player trophy following his 18-point explosion. Gunner Stephen Padilla also had 18 points for the winners.

Ronald Bucao had 19 to pace the Green Lancers while Ferdinand Lusdoc notched 15 markers and Glenn Bolocon added 10.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
