The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is looking into allegations that five policemen from the Anonas police station tried to kill a man last Nov. 4.
The QCPD, so far, does not have the names of the five allegedly involved in the attempted case of summary execution (salvaging, in police parlance).
QCPD director Chief Supt. Mario de la Vega said he has ordered the District Investigation Detective Management Division to investigate a complaint of Rommel Solarte, 39, that he was abducted by five policemen on a patrol car as he was waiting for a ride in the Philcoa area.
Solarte, 39, who brought his complaint to the Commission on Human Rights, alleged that the policemen bound him with wire, shot him and then left him for dead. Barangay watchmen, however, found him and rushed him to East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) for treatment.
De la Vega said they are now investigating the matter before pursuing any action against the policemen, adding that they have not yet received a complaint from Solarte.
Initial reports from the police showed that an investigator tried talking to Solarte at EAMC, but the victim declined to answer queries, saying he wanted to recover from his gunshot wounds first.
