Super Idols climb to 2nd spot
THE Super Idols drubbed Pecandela Law Firm-Primary Homes, 65-50, last Saturday for its 6th win in eight games good for second place in the standings in the 9th IBP-2012 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
After a 17-all tie in the first period, Super Idols pulled off an 18-10 run in the second to rule the half, 35-27 and never relented the rest of the way.
Fermin Pepito and Benjo Macion led Super Idols with 15 and 13 points, respectively while Tommy Yu and Sam Malazarte paced Pecandela with 17 and 12 markers.
In the other game, the Dissenters tripped the Eagles, 65-58, for their 5th win in eight games (5-3).
The Eagles held single-digit leads in the first three periods but the Dissenters unloaded a blistering, 24-11 run in the fourth led by former UC Webmaster Kern Sesante and Jonas Asis to complete the come-from-behind win.
Sesante had a game-high 32 points while Asis added 10. Ian Santos and Al Lagahit paced Eagles (2-6) with 20 and 13, respectively.
