A man wanted for homicide and theft was turned over by his mother to the Makati City police after the suspect committed what may be a graver offense in his household: He maltreated his own 73-year-old mom.
Carrying a sack containing his personal belongings, 39-year-old Jesus Criste Clar showed up accompanied by his mother Rochelle at the Makati Police Headquarters Friday afternoon.
Police said Rochelle decided to turn her son in for allegedly slapping her and pulling her hair whenever they had heated arguments the past month.
Investigators were already considering referring the mother’s complaints to the barangay hall when they discovered that Clar had standing warrants of arrest for homicide and theft from the Makati Metropolitan Trial Court.
It also didn’t help Clar’s cause when, earlier on Friday, jeepney driver Ermenio Ramelo pointed to Clar as the person who allegedly stole his tire wrench, two mechanical jacks and an early-warning device from his parked vehicle in Barangay Cembo.
Clar denied this latest allegation. Maricar B. Brizuela
