Man’s suicide try foiled by passing car

/ 12:14 AM November 10, 2012

A CONSTRUCTION worker tried to end his life by jumping from the highest point of a flyover in Pasig City but survived after a car cushioned his fall.

The police identified the worker as Edmond Prima, 45, a resident of Norzagaray, Bulacan.  Prima jumped off the flyover at the junction of Meralco Avenue and Dona Julia Vargas Street in Ortigas around 10 p.m. Thursday.

It was a clean jump of about 10 to 15 meters, but Prima fell on top of a black Hyundai Accent car passing under the flyover at the exact moment.  Prima, alive but hurting, told the police that hunger and depression made him jump. Nathaniel R. Melican
