Seven-vehicle collision in Edsa Ayala Tunnel–police

MANILA, Philippines – Just after a bus plunged some 40 feet from a Skyway ramp Tuesday morning, seven vehicles collided along the Edsa Ayala Tunnel, prompting the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to close the area from motorists.

MMDA Metrobase’s Dang Rosulada said that operations were still ongoing at the tunnel where three buses and four vans collided at around 12:08 noon.

“There’s heavy traffic in that area and we have closed the tunnel for the time being,” said Rosulada. She could not, however, determine if anyone was injured in the accident.

Earlier Tuesday), a Dimple Star Transport bus with plate number TYU-606 and body number 7511, plunged some 40 feet down the Skyway at around 11:10 a.m. and landed in front of the UPS 4 Marcelo Green West Service Road in Paranaque City, police said.

Authorities are still verifying how many were injured but said that they have been rushed to the Paranaque General Hospital.
