TRAFFIC AIDE SHOT DEAD IN CARMEN
A TRAFFIC enforcer was shot dead by an unidentified assailant while he was driving home in barangay Luyang, Carmen town, northern Cebu.
Police are still investigating possible motives in the killing of 36-year-old Neil Quinco Sabayton.
Sabayton was driving a motorcycle with his wife when the attack occurred past 11 p.m. last Wednesday.
The couple was on their way home. Sabayton had just picked up his wife at a terminal in Danao City.
Police said the assailants waited for the couple along the road. When the couple passed by, the assailants who were on a separate motorcycle, followed them.
While tailing the couple, the backrider of the other motorcycle shot the victim in the back.
The wife sustained minor injuries when the motorcycle crashed to the ground.

COUPLE NABBED FOR DRUGS
TWO live-in partners and a man were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Edgar Montayre allegedly sold a P300 pack of shabu to an undercover policeman in Wednesday night’s operation in sitio Pinahagbong.
Police arrested Montayre and his live-in partner, May-may Loayon, who held the buy-bust money and drug-sniffing paraphernalia.
Police said they had the couple under surveillance for two weeks.
Also arrested was Floro Leyson Jr., who tried to run away. He was spotted in the area carrying a kitchen knife and a sachet of suspected shabu.
In Naga City, southern Cebu, a 28-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay South Poblacion past noon last Wednesday.
Zalde Baylosa, 28, was caught after he allegedly sold a P200 pack of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer in his house.
Police also arrested five persons who were caught in the house of Baylosa believed to be a drug den.
They were identified as Alfredo Ybanez, 47; Cedric Panilag, 20; Roel de Gracia, 32; Aldrin Tapican, 20; and Tyril Pansoy, residents of Naga City.

MAN KILLED IN CEBU CITY
A 34-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead in barangay Day-As, Cebu City.
Renante Suquib, a resident of barangay Barrio Luz, Cebu City, died on the spot with a gunshot wound in the head.
Suquib had gone to sitio Tender Heart to look for a friend on Wednesday afternoon. He was walking in an alley when he was shot.
Residents in the area told police that three gunshots rang out before the man was found slumped on the ground holding his helmet and a motorcycle key.

HOUSE IN TALISAY BURGLARIZED
TWO laptops and other electronic gadgets worth at least P65,000 were stolen from a house in barangay Poblacion, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
The burglars entered the house of Guillema Joma by destroying a sliding window early morning of Wednesday.

3 ARRESTED FOR ’MASIAO’
THREE persons, including a 17-year-old boy, allegedly involved in illegal numbers game locally known as masiao were arrested by police in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
