After med exam, arrested robbers show they’re fit, quicker than cops

Two arrested burglary suspects who had just undergone a routine medical examination prior to detention were able to break free from their police escorts on Wednesday in Quezon City.

The duo ran off even while handcuffed after the examination at the Quezon City Police District’s crime laboratory in Barangay (village) Kamuning on Wednesday.

Initial reports from the Kamuning police station named one of the escapees as Danilo Guerrero, 22. The other is a 16-year-old boy.

They were arrested by barangay watchmen for allegedly breaking into the house of Zencudo de los Reyes, a teacher in Barangay Botocan.

Authorities were able to recover the victim’s laptop worth P60,000, after which the suspects were turned over to the Anonas police station. As part of standard operating procedure, the suspects were brought to the crime lab for a medical and physical examination.

The “akyat-bahay” suspects were escorted by Police Officer 3 Danilo Camba, PO3 Edwin Ramilia and watchman Jessie Villacanta on board a police mobile car.

After the examination, the suspects were about to board the vehicle when they pushed their escorts and ran away. The policemen tried to give chase but the two quickly disappeared in the Kamuning neighborhood.
