The Occupational Safety and Health Center, which holds office in Diliman, Quezon City, was established through Executive Order No. 307, which was signed by then President Corazon Aquino on Nov. 4, 1987. The center was created to provide mechanisms to improve workplace conditions in the country. It was also mandated to protect Filipino workers against accidents and illnesses and to promote the welfare of workers.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
