EXPRESSING their continued confidence in Cebu as an outsourcing hub, Accenture Philippines launched their 15th site in the country, and the third in Cebu at eBloc Tower 2, Cebu IT Park yesterday.
According to Lito Tayag, Accenture Philippines country managing director, the move is part of the company’s global growth strategy.
“The Philippines is the third largest node for Accenture in terms of headcount globally next to India and the United States. Our continued expansion only shows that the country is an important part of the global growth strategy of Accenture,” said Tayag.
Accenture Philippines opened their first office in the country in Makati in 1985 as part of the SGV Group. The firm has since grown and developed into an independent group offering management consulting, technology and outsourcing products and services to over 100 clients around the world.
“We opened in Cebu in 2007 in Pioneer office and later opened another one in Cybergate in 2010. Now we are opening the third site here in Cebu which only shows that we remain confident on the capacity of the Cebuano talents,” said Tayag.
At present, Accenture has 257,000 employees globally–over 28,000 are in the Philippines.
“Now with the third site, we have over 2,000 employees in Cebu and we will continue to grow,” said Tayag.
The new site, which covers four floors of the 16-story eBloc2 will support their day-to-day delivery of technology and outsourcing services and products to their clients according to Tayag.
Tayag also announced they will also open their 16th site in Manila by December this year which will be located in McKinley Hill in Taguig City, Metro Manila.
Tayag said that Accenture Philippines presence now is still in Manila and Cebu where they feel the growth will be coming from in the next few years.
