MANILA, Philippines—A 34-year-old man was forcibly taken near his home Tuesday night by four men in a car only to be gunned down and dumped by his abductors several minutes later in front of a school in Quezon City, police said.
Aldrin Alfon, of Nawasa Line in Barangay (village) Holy Spirit, died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police Officer 2 Ric Roldan Pittong, of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), said Alfon was initially seized midnight Tuesday while he was with friends at a roadside eatery near his home.
According to Pittong, three men alighted from a silver Toyota Vios (XPJ-946), forced Alfon into their vehicle then sped away.
His friends, out of fear, were unable to stop the assailants but managed to note down the car’s plate number.
At around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, barangay security officer Erlinda Lacerna saw a car stop in front of the Bethel Christian School at the corner of Republic Avenue and Orlina Street in Barangay Greater Fairview.
Lacerna watched as a man was shoved out of the vehicle and repeatedly shot at by the passengers. The car then drove away, leaving the bloodied victim lying on the pavement.
Pittong said the victim, later identified as Alfon, was killed on the spot. He added that the shooters used the same car in the victim’s abduction.
According to the case investigator, a motive has yet to be established because, based on statements given by the victim’s family, Alfon had no known enemy.
