NCRPO fires 19 erring cops

MANILA, Philippines—Nineteen Metro Manila police officers were dismissed from the service as the National Capital Region Police Office continue the implementation of disciplinary sanctions for pending grave misconduct cases, a police official said.

NCRPO chief, Director Leonardo Espina also said that aside from the dismissed officers, five others were demoted, while 20 more were suspended.

The erring policemen who were meted the dismissal from the Philippine National Police (PNP) pursuant to the National Police Commission Memorandum Circular No. 2007-001 were:

·         Police Officer 3 Ricardo Ailes (SPD); Police Officer 1 Herminigildo Gajeto (SPD) Grave misconduct (Irregularities in the Performance of Duty, Illegal Arrest and Extortion);

·         PO1 Roberto Cruz (MPD) Grave misconduct (Robbery in Band in relation to Republic Act 7610 or child abuse);

·         PO1 Vincent Paul Medina (MPD); SPO1 Cirilio Zamora; PO1 Norlito Daguman (SPD) Grave Misconduct (Robbery Extortion);

·         Senior Police Officer 1 Froilan Pontivedra (EPD) Grave misconduct (Malversation of Public Property);

·         SPO1 Agustin Villanueva (QCPD) Grave misconduct (Commit any Act or omission that constitute a crime punishable under the Revised Penal Code or Special Laws);

·         PO3 Reynaldo Angeles (QCPD) Grave misconduct (Lost of one unit Motorola handheld radio entrusted to him for official use);

·         PO2 Rolando Manipolo (MPD); PO1 Robert Ryan Noe (QCPD) Grave Misconduct (Frustrated Homicide and Serious Physical Injuries);

·         PCINSP Reynante Ibon (SPD) Grave Misconduct (Murder and Attempted Murder);

·         PO1 Bernandino Meneses (SPD) Grave misconduct (Murder and Violation of Presidential Decree 1866 as Amended by Republic Act 8294);

·         PO3 Gerardo Javier (RPHAU) Grave misconduct;

·         PO1 Sieroma Prudente   (MPD); PO1 Julius Enderio (MPD) PO3 Pacholo Nang(NPD); PO1 Abdulah Ontuwa (EPD); and PO1 Eric Raz Nicodemus (SPD)  Serious Neglect of Duty (Awol).

Since Espina assumed office in September, 58 city police officers have been dismissed from the service for various offenses, while 15 others were demoted and 26 more were suspended.

“Any police officer who committed wrongdoing and found violating the law has no place in the NCRPO,” Espina said.
