Romney would have been ‘more decisive’ on PH-China row—solon
MANILA, Philippines – Representative Danilo Suarez, minority leader at the House of Representatives, feels that Republican candidate Mitt Romney would have been “more decisive” in resolving the Philippines’ territorial dispute with China.
In a press conference on Wednesday after the results of the US elections came out, Suarez said that it would not have made a difference to the Philippines’ relationship with the US whether it was Romney or reelected President Barack Obama.
But Saurez said, “Had it been a Republican, they will be more decisive in assisting us in our problem with China,” said Suarez who believed in Romney’s plans to beef up the military.
He said that Obama was being “too soft on irresponsible countries”, referring to Iran that has equipped itself with nuclear programs.
But Marikina Representative Miro Quimbo said that was has been constantly overlooked was Obama’s being “a non-warmonger President.”
