Reading advocate group, Basadours, will start the celebration of the National Book Week with “Storython: A storytelling marathon event,” which will gather more than 100 selected schoolchildren in Cebu City on Nov. 23 at the Cebu City Public Library (CCPL).
Storython carries the theme “Storytelling is more fun at your public library.”
It will feature six storytellers coming from different backgrounds, who will read and act out value-laden storybooks to children.
After each storytelling session, children will proceed to the arts and crafts corner for creative activity expression. They will also have the chance to strike different poses at the photo area and reveal their favorite books.
“We are grateful for the active involvement of the Basadours in generating attention and interest for reading and storytelling. In doing so, they have also spread the message that the presence of the public library is very important in a big city like Cebu,” said chief librarian Rosario Chua.
