/ 08:24 AM November 07, 2012

WBO light flyweight world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes of the ALA Gym is penned to face Danai Meendaeng of Thailand in a 10-round non-title bout at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City.

This is a tune-up for Nietes (30W-1L-3D, 16 KOs) as he prepares for his defense early next year against WBO minimumweight champion Moises Fuentes of Mexico.

In his last fight, Nietes beat Mexican Felipe Salguero by unanimous decision last June at the Resorts World in Pasay City for his first defense of his title.

Meendaeng is an unknown entity but he had one fight in the Philippines last October 29, 2011 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, where he lost to Cris Paulino by unanimous decision for the vacant WBC Youth Intercontinental flyweight title.
