Classes until high school suspended in 3 regions

MANILA, Philippines—As Tropical Depression “Juaning” intensifies into a typhoon, the Department of Education announced early Tuesday morning the suspension of classes in public and private pre-school to high-school levels in Regions 1 (Ilocos), 3 (Central Luzon) and 5 (Bicol).

At the National Capital Region, DepEd regional director Elena Ruiz said classes in the afternoon and evening from elementary to high school would also be suspended in an interview with Jay Sonza in “Tapatan” on 990AM.

She added that students in the morning classes who have gone to school were strongly advised to go home immediately and for respective school authorities to cancel the rest of the classes.

In a previous interview with 990AM, Department of Science and Technology (DoST)Undersecretary Graciano Yumul said to expect more heavy rains in the afternoon in Metro Manila.
