Mild quake jolts northern Luzon
MANILA, Philippines – A mild earthquake hit northern Luzon Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the 2.9 magnitude quake was recorded 5:49 a.m., 11 kilometers southeast of Baguio City. It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 29 kilometers.

Intensity II was felt in Baguio City, it added.

No aftershocks were expected and no damages were also recorded.
Baguio City was among the hardest hit areas in a 7.8 magnitude “killer quake” in the northern island of Luzon in 1990, which killed nearly 2,000 people.
