Feeding extends to Lapu schools

The Century Pacific Group-Ricardo S. Po (CPG-RSPo) Foundation, together with the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE), continues to wage war against malnutrition and hunger among Filipinos during its October relaunching of KAIN (Kalusugan at Isipan Naalagaan) Po supplementary feeding program.

The feeding program that prepared about 200,000 meals since September 2011 has extended its reach to elementary schools in Lapu-Lapu City and established a platform for health interventions in partnership with school heads, parents-teachers associations and socio-civic groups.

Lapu-Lapu partner schools include Marigondon Elementary School (ES), Pajac ES, Bagong Silang ES, Kalawisan ES, Babag II ES, Canjulao ES and Cebu Child Development Center.

The first batch of beneficiaries included Banilad ES, Cabancalan I ES, Cabancalan ES II, Leonard Wood ES, Cubacub ES, Canduman ES, San Jose ES, San Jose Day Care Center and Budlaan ES.

The schools were selected based on the number of beneficiaries and their commitment to the program.

Every month, the partner schools furnished CITE with feeding reports and updates about the development of the children beneficiaries after receiving the feeding, such as their academic performance and school attendance.

For partnerships, call 346-1611 and look for Jun Mercado. Log on to cite.edu.ph for updates on the feeding.
