/ 09:14 PM November 05, 2012

The family of a missing Department of Education (DepEd) clerk threw flowers into the sea off the island-province of Romblon as authorities ended search-and-rescue operations after six days on Sunday.

Lt. Geoffrey Espaldon, Coast Guard commander in Romblon, said the rescuers failed to find the remains of Anna Adarlo.

The woman was reported missing while DepEd-Romblon schools superintendent Eve Fajutag and administrative officer Grace Mallorca died after their motorized boat sank near Puyo town on Oct. 26.

The teachers were on their way home after attending a management committee meeting on Simara island, also in Romblon.

Last week, Education Secretary Armin Luistro visited the wake of Fajutag and Mallorca in Romblon, Romblon.

In an earlier interview, Espaldon said a helicopter even flew over the seas to locate Adarlo. “It seemed the family has accepted it already,” he said.  Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon
