Dead man in box found in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines—A box containing a male corpse was found in a garbage pile in Quezon City early Monday, police said.

The still unidentified victim, possibly 25-30 years old, bore strangulation marks.

Case investigator Police Officer 2 Dennis Llapitan said the body was discovered around 1:20 a.m. at the corner of A. Bonifacio and Luna streets in Barangay (village) N.S. Amoranto.

Garbage collectors noticed the box in the trash pile and found inside it the body, clad only in a black shirt and black briefs.

Llapitan said the victim was five feet tall and had the words “Andre A” tattooed on his back.

Police also recovered two pairs of shorts, a pair of slippers and a knife inside the box.

Llapitan added that they are still looking for witnesses who might have seen who dumped the body.
