Case investigator Police Officer 2 Dennis Llapitan said the body was discovered around 1:20 a.m. at the corner of A. Bonifacio and Luna streets in Barangay (village) N.S. Amoranto.

Garbage collectors noticed the box in the trash pile and found inside it the body, clad only in a black shirt and black briefs.

Police also recovered two pairs of shorts, a pair of slippers and a knife inside the box.

Llapitan added that they are still looking for witnesses who might have seen who dumped the body.
